forgive the kid's camera, it means well.
the quote to fix my baby came back and it is half the value of the camera.
i was mid painting charlie's room when the call came and in my delirium of exhaustion -
i said "go ahead, fix it, whatever." click.
i don't regret it -
because i don't want to camera shop at the moment
and i don't want to spend another half a window on anything else but windows.
that's my life at the present.
"mom, can i have this?"
i glance at whatever offending item they have picked up in the store -
"um no, that's 1/16th of a window. not going to happen."
"hon, what if we got this?"
i glance at whatever offending item is on the screen -
"hah! i'm no sucker! that's at least 1/4 of a window."
okay, enough window talk -
this ceiling has been particularly challenging -
mostly in that it hasn't been done before and that the two containers we recycled -
are the same.
one side has channels, the other doesn't.
one is lower.
and somehow they all have to even out.
and they have to have the light patterns worked into them.
check it out.
so, here's the deal -
remember we went to go pick up all of those PALLETS -
and the boys have been steadily pulling them apart...
well, the plan is to sand them (keeping their patina as much as possible)
and planking the ceiling in them -
with the light channels cutting through them.
the light and dark - AMAZING.
for those of you who don't picture things well in your head -
just be patient it will look amazing.
and for those who see things in their head -
AMAZING, right?!
okay, i'm off to school the babes and make my seedling calendar for the garden.

Love, love, love the ceiling idea. I've always really liked the pallet-remnant walls--almost. I love the look, but a whole wall was always a bit much for me. But on a ceiling: perfect. And with the tube lighting, and the big windows--ah, that is going to be sssooo inviting!
Yeah- completely amazing!!! Oh- I can't wait to see it. And your judging everything by window cost is hilarious! I love it!
